Girl Scouts Help Provide Coats For The Homeless
September 30, 2016
Last year, the PV Peninsula Girl Scouts helped give donated coats to the homeless families at a local shelter area. The scouts were heartbroken when they saw the homeless families decided which family member would receive the coat they received by the scouts. They were only so much donated coats to give to the shelter. Each family were limited to one coat. This act motivated the scouts to get more coats to give to the homeless. They hope to double the amount of coats they got last year.
There are over 100 troops in PV. Troop 2275, 6405, and 7895 are leading this drive. Girl scouts all over PV are collecting coats from numerous schools including Silver Spur Elementary, Vista Grande Elementary, and more. They are getting many coats and are donating them to the One Warm Coat Drive Organization. This website helps receive and donate coats to shelters. This is one of the many things Girl Scouts do to better the community. They hope everyone at the shelters will receive a coat to survive the upcoming cold winter.
